Margaret has been an
active member of the Deep River Potters’ Guild since joining
the Guild in 1979. As a member of the guild she learned the pottery
basics and then continued to take courses and workshops to improve
her skills in raku, sculpture, design, sculptural installation,
glaze technology and others.
She currently works from her home studio to create
her predominantly hand built pieces. Her imaginative work is inspired
by both man made and natural objects as varied as castles, buckets,
boxes, animals or human figures. A range of clay bodies and firing
techniques are used to create wood, leather, stone, fur or fabric-like
finishes on her work. Her decorative and functional pieces include
serving dishes, to gargoyles, to planters and tables rendered
in a style distinctly her own.
