Jim is a retired high school teacher who took up photography
as a hobby more than three decades ago. More recently that
interest has blossomed into an almost full-time obsession
with very exciting results.
Jim's images have been described as provocative, imaginative,
humorous, quirky and even spooky at times. His black and white
photos are stark representations often times suggesting a
story. He demonstrates an appreciation of architectural design
and the patterns created by shadow and light. His landscapes
reflect his love of travel to far off places and his macro
works include the most amazing details found in the natural
world, often shot in his own back yard in Mackey, Ontario.
He utilizes many photographic techniques to enhance his pictures
and although he was torn away kicking and screaming from traditional
photography and the dark room "magic", he has since
embraced the digital world and the excitement of computer
manipulation. Conventional photography - this is not!
