Martin has been a resident of Deep River since 2006, and he enjoys the challenge of designing leather creations and hand tooling his own designs. His recent output includes making bags of all sizes and descriptions, dog leashes and collars, belts, cell phone covers, and he can make almost anything you can think of. He also enjoys doing leather repairs.
Back in the 1970s Martin learned the art of saddle making from an "old timer" in British Columbia. He continued to make saddles, horsey things, gun cases and to do leather repairs from his Tack shop near Enderby. Martin still has the very first saddle that he ever made, which is fashioned upon a saddle tree from one of the original Canadian Mountie saddles.
Since May 2012, Martin's work has been on sale at the Valley Artisan's Co-op. If you would like him to make you a specific item he can be contacted at his home at 91 Glendale, Deep River, 613-584-1615.
