Olivier and
his family came to Deep River from Dole, France—a city of
25,000—in 2006. He began to pursue photography as a hobby
5-6 years ago. His hobby turned serious in October 2008 when he
set up his business as a professional photographer.
Olivier is first struck by the composition of
a subject and next by colour. Viewers will notice the colours
in his photographs, sometimes vibrant, sometimes subtle, and also
his use of light. He sticks to traditional photographic techniques,
using his computer to crop and frame subjects only.
While in France, he particularly enjoyed photographing
architecture; his inspiration in Deep River includes the local
wildlife and the landscape. He particularly enjoys doing portraits
outside as there are so many beautiful locations.
Olivier is satisfied with his move to Deep River.
He enjoys the community, preferring the quieter, slower pace of
life. Joining the Valley Artisans Co-op will provide him with
an opportunity to promote himself as a professional photographer,
and to present himself, his work and his style to the community.
